Yoyos have been getting wider in small millimeter increments for years, so we jumped to the logical conclusion and made a yoyo that measures one foot in width.

What followed was more than fifteen prototypes resulting in something that literally stretches the definition of what a yoyo can be.

A Yoyo That Starts Conversations

The Ruler became one of the most talked about yoyos when it was released at US Nationals 2025.

Many legendary yoyo players picked one up for their personal collections, including World's Silver Medalist and viral yoyo sensation Hunter Feuerstein, who has featured the Ruler in multiple videos as "The World’s Widest Yoyo".

The Ruler continues to turn heads wherever it shows up. At yoyo meetups across the country, it regularly stops conversations with one question: "What is that?"

It Plays Like Two Water Cups Glued Together

At a full foot wide, the sheer weight and inertia create a slow and powerful spin.

Once you learn how it likes to be thrown, you'll find that the Ruler is a surprisingly capable modern yoyo with a unique play profile that will leave you feeling like a beginner all over again. Simple Brent Stoles become immensely challenging when you must navigate the string around six inches of yoyo. Wrist mounts become all but impossible. Horizontal becomes incredibly satisfying when it's impossible to miss.

One Foot of Smooth Spins

Earlier versions sold at Nationals received feedback that vibration was an issue. That feedback directly shaped the final design.

We completely reworked the hub system and moved to a metal bearing seat, replacing the plastic bearing seat commonly found in 3D printed yoyos. The result is a smoother spin, reduced vibration, and a significantly more durable structure that we now use across all our printed yoyos. Why The Ruler Exists

The Ruler is all about exploration.

If you collect unusual yoyos, if you love experimental design, or if you want to own a piece of modern yoyo history that will never feel normal, the Ruler belongs in your collection. Plus it makes a fun display piece full of character for a fireplace or book shelf.

Playable, With Honest Limits

It is important to be clear about what it is and what it is not.

This is primarily a collector’s yoyo. It is made from premium materials so it will stand up over time with proper care, but it is not indestructible. We have seen prototypes stand up to extreme abuse, but we don't recommend these as "beater" yoyos.

Hard impacts, especially on concrete or similarly unforgiving surfaces, can cause damage. Extreme impacts may result in cracks. That risk is part of operating at this scale and sales are final*.

If you want something safe to abuse, this is not it. If you want something that redefines what a yoyo can be, this is exactly that.
